As well as these competitions we had other activities to do, such as a trip down one of Belgium's old mines, a shopping trip around Brussels, a couple of Disco's, and a cultural evening, which involved sampling various foods and finding out about the different countries (16 altogether) that were there. We also were involved in a 'Friendship Relay', and had fun swapping o-kit and other memorabilia with the other countries!

After the great time and the success we had in Belgium I am really hoping to be selected for the next World Schools Championships, which will be held in Slovakia in 2006. I would definitely recommend the rising young juniors of Airienteers to try and be selected for this event. It was really great !!!!!

Thanks very much to Airienteers for their generous contribution that they made to this amazing trip.

JIRC 2004

This year's junior inter regional championships were held in Scotland which meant we had a long drive to get there. We split the journey in two so that we didn't have a 5/6-hour journey before the race on Saturday. We left Skipton at about 5.30pm on Friday night and met Tony (the squad coach) at Otley who drove us up to a church in Whitley Bay, just north of Newcastle where we spent the night.
In the morning we set off at about 9.00 so that we got to the individual event in plenty of time, the two-hour journey was also a good chance to catch up on sleep which we missed the night before! We arived in plenty of time to mess about a bit and put up the club tent.
